NEW YORK – September 6, 2026 (STL.News) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 2,197 people across New York during a monthlong immigration enforcement operation that federal officials say included convicted murderers, rapists, drug traffickers and other serious offenders. The enforcement initiative, called Operation Rotten Apple, ran from July 27 through Aug. 29 and represented a significant escalation of federal immigration enforcement across New York.
